Do you own the portraits from your session? No. Here’s a little info to help clarify any confusion. Personal Usage (that is included in your initial service fee): All photos you receive from Mandy Dempsey Photography are initially licensed for personal use. That excludes commercial/business use and third party distribution. (i.e. no other accounts posting the portrait to social media) or use for business representation or promotion (i.e. tagging another business, tagging another business with a promo code is also considered commercial usage). The photographer, Mandy Dempsey, owns the copyright. If you wish to do any of the above that is not included in your initial service fee, please contact me about licensing. I'm happy to discuss your options and answer any questions you may have about how to gain business usage and obtain the proper usage license. Please no editing or adding filters to the portraits.
2. Can you acquire commercial/business use of a portrait/image? Yes. Please reach out to open that conversation! I’m happy to let you know your options. There are different factors that will determine your licensing rate. Let’s talk!
3. Does the photographer release unedited images? No. I do not release unedited/RAW images to a client unless you are a commercial client who has hired me solely as a photographer. The commercial client would have to employ an existing professional retoucher/editor that will achieve their desired aesthetic. This mostly applies to big brands and agency work.
4. Do I get all of the images captured during my session? You will view the best images in a proofing gallery. Those proofs are not straight out of the camera RAW images. The images in your proofing gallery have global adjustments edited to them, to resemble close to how the final portrait will be. A watermark is applied to all proofing galleries. Additional selections are available for purchase starting at $45/high resolution digital download. Want to buy all of your portraits from the proofing gallery, simply multiply that number by the al a carte portrait investment rate and that is how much your investment will be for all portriats.
5. Can you expedite your gallery delivery time? Yes. Depending on the amount of images needed and the rush, an additional fee will be determined to expedite your gallery, if the photographer has the available time.
6. Do you have prints available? Yes! I have a professional print store that is connected to your online portrait gallery. I’m happy to help assist in finding the perfect keepsake to compliment your living space! Mandy Dempsey Photography is not responsible for any printing services that aren’t connected directly to your gallery.
7. Can I choose additional portraits beyond what is included in the session fee? Yes! You may purchase additional selections that are released as a high resolution digital download.
8. Inclement weather on the day of your session? In the event of inclement weather, the photographer will make the call 4 hours prior to your outdoor session to proceed or reschedule. In the event of rescheduling, the photographer and client will work together to find the next available time and day to book the session.
9. Rescheduling Policy: If your date needs to be changed once you have booked your session, the photographer allows one complimentary reschedule. You must contact the photographer via email 48 hours in advance to reschedule your session. If you need to reschedule a second time, a $100 fee will be required to offset the loss of the photographers income due to losing a future date and time that could have been sold to another client.
10. Can I get a refund? All sales are final. Good news, though! Your payment will be transferred to a credit with Mandy Dempsey Photography, based on the monetary value and applied to a future service. Demanding a refund breaks the client-servicer agreement at initial booking and you will be declining future services from Mandy Dempsey Photography by accepting a refund. Refunds will have a processing fee of 20% of the amount initially paid and are applicable only prior to the session.
11. How far in advance should you book your session? For standard services that are listed under the service page, please book your session 3 weeks in advance. If you’re looking to book sooner than what is recommended, please reach out and I might have availability!
12. Not meeting the Proof Selection due date: If you do not submit your portrait order by the due date, the photographer is no longer able to honor the initial expected delivery provided in the proofing email.
13. Proofing Gallery Ordering time limits: First due date: Place your order + additional selections are (x) amount. After first due date, there is a second due date: additional selections now have a price increase. After second due date: the proofing gallery will be closed and to gain access, please see #14.
14. Expired Proofing Gallery reissue: If your proofing gallery has expired and you would like to view it after the gallery has expired, the client will pay a $30 reissue fee to view the proofing gallery. Your $30 fee will be transferred to the total of your portrait order. If no additional selections are made aside from what is included in the session fee, the fee is retained by the photographer.
